1. NTN (National Tax Number)

NTN is like identity card for a business, it is even needed for corporate and business executives. Every taxpayer should have an NTN number, in Pakistan NTN number can be verified online from the website of Federal Board of Revenue.
NTN is required for business transactions; opening bank account. NTN is also required for filing tax return of individuals and companies. It is required for filing tender notices and bids with government departments and multinational companies.

2. Income Tax:

Under section 4 of the Income Tax Ordinance 2001, Income tax is imposed for each tax year at specified rates on every person who has taxable income for the year. The tax payer is calculated by applying the rates(s) of the tax to the taxable income of the tax payer for the year and from that amount is deducted any tax credits allowed to the tax payer for that year.

3. STRN (Sales Tax Registration Number)

Any Individual/ Partnership Firm/ Company involved in any activity on which sales tax is applicable that Individual/ Partnership Firm/ Company must have to register with FBR for Sales Tax.

3.1. FBR STRN:

Sales tax registration with FBR is required for company if any company is involved in taxable activities of Goods.

3.2. PRA STRN:

After the 18th constitutional amendment in Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan collection of sales tax on services came under the domain of provinces, latter provincial revenue authorities / boards were constituted in provinces.
